I am Andrew Harrison. I was born and raised in Rochester, NY, went to college at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and graduate school at the University of South Carolina. Prior to traveling the country interviewing people, I was in business to business sales, living in Memphis, TN, Phoenix, AZ and Charlotte, NC.

My journey started when I was 28 years old. I resigned from a sales job that would have paid me over $100,000 while typically working less than 40 hours per week. I resigned due to lack of inspiration. After not being motivated by what seemed like the perfect career, I had to find out how others came to find passion in their life and in work. I decided I could not try 100 jobs, but I could talk with 100 people about their career and life. My goal: Try and find a job and lifestyle I could take purpose from and pour passion into.

My travels (www.iamontheroad.com) have taken me over three years, 75,000 miles and 145 one-on-one interviews. The journey has been the most incredible thing I've ever been a part of. It has changed my life. My first book, "Love Your 84,000 Hours at Work: Stories On the Road From People With Purpose and Passion," explains what I’ve learned from my travel experiences interviewing passionate people about their life, job and career path.

It's funny, I set out on the road looking for the right career by interviewing others about theirs. What I found is that my right career is meeting passionate people and sharing the stories of how they got there with others.

That sharing now comes in the form of this book, doing media interviews about what I've learned from my experiences, as well as the talks I give on finding your passion at colleges, high schools, churches, businesses and communities around the country. Also, I had a one-year stint as an adjunct professor at St. John Fisher College, a four year liberal arts school in Rochester, NY.
